Consumer inspection (ČOI) in your salon - free checklist

Go through the items and tick what you have. Anything you cannot tick, sort out before an inspection. Each item shows the legal provision it comes from.

1. Price list

The client knows the price before booking the service.A price list in a visible place, or another reasonable way - e.g. a price list online or the price said in advance.Section 13(2) Act No. 526/1990 Coll.
Prices are final, in Czech crowns, including everything the client pays.No extra "+ materials" the client does not know about in advance.Section 13(2) and (3) Act No. 526/1990 Coll.
The price is legible and unambiguous.With "from 500 CZK", add what the price depends on (hair length, scope).Section 13(3) Act No. 526/1990 Coll.
For tailored services you give the client a price estimate in advance.Colouring by length, lash extensions, work depending on nail condition.Section 13(2)(e) Act No. 526/1990 Coll.

2. Complaints

The client knows how and where to file a complaint.A posted complaints policy or information on your website is enough.Section 13 Act No. 634/1992 Coll.
You accept complaints throughout your opening hours.You, or a person you authorise.Section 19(1) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.
When a complaint is filed, you give the client a written confirmation.Date, what is being claimed, how the client wants it resolved, and their contact.Section 19(2) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.
You resolve the complaint within 30 days.Unless you agree with the client on a longer period.Section 19(3) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.
After resolving it, you confirm the date and the way it was resolved.If you reject it, you also explain why in writing.Section 19(5) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.

3. Receipt and ČOI information

You issue a receipt on request.Date, which service, price, your name and company ID (IČO).Section 16(1) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.
The client knows a dispute can be resolved out of court via ČOI.Include the web address (coi.gov.cz/informace-o-adr) in a visible place, and on your website if you have one. Almost nobody knows this one.Section 14(1) Act No. 634/1992 Coll.

4. Premises signage

Your name (or company name) and IČO are visible from outside.Section 17(7) Act No. 455/1991 Coll.
The name of the person responsible for the premises is shown.Section 17(8) Act No. 455/1991 Coll.
Opening hours for clients are shown.Section 17(8) Act No. 455/1991 Coll.
Your premises are registered with the trade licensing office.Unless you already listed them when registering your trade.Section 17(3) Act No. 455/1991 Coll.
