Ready for a hygiene inspection - working at the client's

Checklist for mobile services: hairdressing, barbering, cosmetics, manicure and pedicure at the client's home, in a care home or at a company - as of 1 October 2026

Since 1 January 2026, also for mobile services: the operating rules are no longer submitted to the public health authority for approval. You still need to have them written down - even without premises. The Ministry of Health has issued a separate template for working at the client's ("Docházková služba"), you will find the one for your region below.

Go through the points and tick what you have. Sort out anything you cannot tick before the inspection. Each point shows where the requirement comes from: a section number = the law itself, "Ministry template" = what the Ministry states in its "Docházková služba" operating rules template.

Make-up and styling: check with your regional public health authority whether these duties apply to you - the law explicitly names hairdressing, barbering, cosmetics, manicure and pedicure.

1. Paperwork

I have notified the public health authority in writing that I am starting the activity - on the day I start at the latest.Significant changes and ending the activity are notified too. Ask your regional public health authority how to state in the notification that you work without premises (see the contact for your region).Section 21(3) of Act 258/2000 Coll.
I have written operating rules for working outside premises.They are not approved, but you must have them and update them whenever the conditions change.Section 21(3) and (4) of Act 258/2000 Coll.
The operating rules state where my base is (my own premises or a dedicated space at home) and that all work with used tools happens there.Ministry template, art. I

2. Transport and tools

I transport clean (sterile) and used items separately - each in its own washable container.Ministry template, art. III
I have enough sets of tools to serve every client with a clean (sterile) set.If someone else sterilises for you, you can show how many sets you have.Ministry template, art. III
After each client I mechanically clean, wash, disinfect and rinse the tools.Ministry template, art. III
I do not reuse single-use items.Ministry template, art. III

3. Disinfection and first aid

4. Personal hygiene and protecting the client

I wash my hands with warm running water before and after each client (at the client's, in her sink) and dry them with single-use towels.Ministry template, art. IV
I work in clean work clothes and shoes, carry them in a clean bag and keep used ones separate.Ministry template, art. III and IV
I use disposable gloves where the service requires it.Ministry template, art. IV

5. Linen

I have clean linen or single-use material for every client and protect her clothes with a cape or towel.Ministry template, art. V
I know where and how I wash linen (at home separately from family laundry, temperature, drying) - and it is in my operating rules.Ministry template, art. V

6. Cleaning and waste

Manicure and pedicure: after each client I wash and disinfect the portable basin (bowl) (virucidal and fungicidal) and carry it in a clean washable container.Ministry template, art. VI
I put sharp objects (blades, needles) in a rigid, closed, labelled container, store it out of the public's reach and have a contract for its disposal - the document is available for inspection.Ministry template, art. VI
